CANNED MOTOR PUMP WITH RECIRCULATION TO DISCHAGE SIDE

The Canned Motor Pump with Recirculation to Discharge Side is a hermetically sealed pump designed for applications where reliable operation and controlled internal circulation are essential. The pump and motor are integrated into a single compact unit, eliminating the need for a conventional mechanical shaft seal and reducing the risk of leakage.

A controlled portion of the pumped fluid is diverted from the impeller discharge and circulated through the motor section. This flow provides cooling for the motor and lubrication for the internal slide bearings before being returned to the discharge side of the pump.

An auxiliary impeller helps maintain sufficient pressure within the internal circulation path, allowing the warmed cooling flow to return to the discharge side without creating unfavorable boiling conditions inside the motor chamber. This arrangement is particularly useful when handling liquids with high vapor pressure or liquefied gases, where maintaining the fluid in a stable liquid state is critical.

Because the entire pump assembly is sealed, there is no rotating shaft extending outside the pressure boundary. This makes the design suitable for chemical, petrochemical, refrigeration, and other process applications where leakage prevention is an important consideration.

The pump can be selected for applications involving liquefied gases, volatile process fluids, and other demanding media, with the final configuration determined by the required flow, head, temperature, vapor pressure, and fluid properties.
